In April 1964, while chasing a speeding car, Socorro, New Mexico police officer Lonnie Zamora reported seeing a shiny oval craft on open ground with two small figures beside it. The object then rose with a blue-orange flame and departed. Project Blue Book investigators who arrived found matching landing impressions and scorched vegetation but could offer no conventional explanation. It was one of the few cases the program formally classified as genuinely unknown.
