In June 2021, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) delivered the first unclassified UAP report to Congress. Of 144 incidents reviewed, only one could be explained. The report explicitly refused to rule out non-human origins, identified UAP as a genuine flight-safety and national-security concern, and called for urgent expansion of sensor coverage and reporting. It was the U.S. government's first formal public assessment of the topic submitted to Congress.
