A nearly five-minute infrared video, likely captured by a U.S. military platform in the U.S. Central Command region in 2020, tracks an area of contrast as the sensor zooms and pans to follow it. The footage, uploaded to a classified network in June 2024, highlights the object with a reticle and continues tracking as it moves across the frame.

Detail

Released through the PURSUE declassification, this Department of War video was identified by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) among records requested by U.S. House members in March 2026. AARO assesses the roughly five-minute clip likely derives from an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform operating in the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) area of responsibility in 2020. A user uploaded it to a classified network in June 2024.

The footage shows an area of contrast appearing in the sensor's field of view, with the sensor zooming and panning to keep it in view and highlighting it with a reticle. The object exits the lower-left of the frame before the sensor zooms out, pans, and zooms back in to continue tracking, cycling zoom levels to maintain the object in view. AARO notes the description is informational only.
