An accompanying mission report described the object as a misshapen, uneven ball of white light accompanied by a glare-like halo effect at the top of the feed.

Detail

This record, released through the PURSUE declassification, contains a six-second full-motion video (FMV) clip submitted by U.S. Central Command to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO). The footage was recorded by an FMV camera aboard a U.S. military platform in 2024 over Syria.

A related mission report characterized the phenomenon as a "misshapen and uneven ball of white light" and noted a light or glare halo effect at the top of the feed. In the footage, an irregular area of white and red brightness appears near the top-center of the sensor display, roughly a third of the frame wide and shaped like a horizontally oriented half-oval. The Department of War provided the video description for information only and drew no analytical conclusions about the event.
